How Algo “Lego” Technologies Make Markets Safer – Rick Lane
Rick Lane – Trading Technologies
We already have computers, why don’t we start automating it.
Technology has taken over the financial markets during the past 25 years. Today, trades are done in microseconds via computer algorithms and powerful servers. Rick Lane, CEO of Trading Technologies talks about how technology has changed for traders in the futures markets and what is coming next. The future of trading isn’t a static software setup that limits trading strategies, he says, but one that invites traders to create their own algorithms in a Lego-like manner that is not only a faster way to create trading strategies but safer as well. Lane, who was chief technology officer at Trading Technologies when he spoke with students in Chicago in 2013, says trading innovation does not stop there either. Trading screens and the way they look and operate will change dramatically as well.
